From:David Robinson (my sister's lover)
1 pkg. wonton wrappers
1 steak (you can use whatever piece you want)
1 pkg. whole mushrooms
1 small onion
1 pkg. cream cheese
Oil for frying
Butter for sauteing
Cook steak to desired doneness and cut into small pieces. Chop mushrooms and onion into small pieces, saute in butter til tender. Once everything is cooked mix steak with onion/mushroom mix.
Place a small chunk of cream cheese in the center of a wonton wrapper and top with a small spoonful of meat mixture. Wet the edges of the wonton wrapper with water and fold in half or how you desire. Pinch edge together to seal. Set aside. Proceed to do this until you run out of wrappers or meat mix.
Once you have all of them made you are ready to fry them. Heat your oil when you are about 3/4 of the way done making your wontons. Place a few (maybe 8-10) wontons in your oil and fry on each side until a golden brown.
These can be done with a variety of meats and veggies if desired. You can do pork instead of steak. You can add spinach. You can do crab meat and cream cheese. You can do just plain cream cheese if you want. (we did that it was heavenly) I haven't tried this yet but you could do cream cheese and fruit. (I want to do this one, it just sounds yummy)
Let your imagination run wild and create new flavors!
