Unforgettable chicken casserole

I don't remember where I got this recipe but we really liked it. I typically skimp on my chicken when I cook things like this. Simply because there is plenty of other things and it saves a little money. But I shouldn't have. There isn't enough other things to skimp--so take my word and don't.

3 c. chopped cooked chicken
2 c. finely chopped celery
1 c. shredded cheddar cheese
1 c. sour cream
1 c. mayo
1 can water chestnuts, drained and chopped
1 can cream of chicken soup
1/2 c. slivered almonds
1 can french-fried onion rings

Preheat oven to 350. Coat a 9 x 13 baking dish with cooking spray.

In lg. bowl, stir together chicken, celery, cheese, sour cream, mayo, water chestnuts, soup, and almonds. Spoon into prepared dish.

Bake, uncovered, for 30 min. Sprinkle onion rings evenly over top and bake 5 more min or until bubbly around edges. Let stand 5 min before serving.
