New England Cranberry Delight

3 c. chopped apples
2 c. raw cranberries
1 1/4 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. oatmeal, uncooked
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/3 c. flour
3/4 tsp salt
1/2 c. butter, melted
1/3 c. chopped nuts, optional

Combine apples and cranberries in 9' pie plate. Sprinkle sugar over fruit. Mix together oats, brown sugar, flour, and salt. Add butter, mixing until crumbly. Sprinkle over fruit mix. Top with nuts. Bake at 350 for 1 hour. Serve warm or cold with whipped topping or vanilla ice cream.

Also makes good breakfast dish.
