Hawian Haystacks

Chicken broth
Cream of chicken soup
black olives
cheese
chow mein noodles
cooked chicken
pineapple, drained
hot cooked rice

Mix chicken broth with cream of chicken soup. I use enough chicken broth to make the sauce to desired thinness. Heat through. I usually put the rice on my plate then my chow mein noodles, chicken, olives, cheese, and then top it off with the sauce. You can layer it however you desire.

*The above recipe is no longer used in this house.

I found this recipe for the sauce on Picky Palate. We still use the same toppings and still serve it over rice, we just use this sauce instead.

1 stick butter
1/2 c. flour
1 tsp kosher salt
1/2 c. sour cream
1/4 tsp pepper
32 oz. chicken broth
2 tsp dry ranch dressing mix
1/4 tsp garlic

Melt butter. Whisk flour, salt and pepper till smooth and thick. Whisk in chicken broth. Heat till thick, 2 min. approx. Add sour cream, ranch mix, garlic, and garlic. Heat till warm, do not boil.
